I recently was appointed to the position of Membership Development Chair for the Junior League of Sioux Falls for the upcoming year. I’m so excited about my role because I have such a passion for the organization and their commitment to the community and developing the potential of women.
I was made aware of the Junior League of Sioux Falls by a friend. I attended my first General Membership Meeting back in February of 2014. Truthfully, Caleb had just been hired to work evenings and I was looking for a network of community-driven, passionate individuals with whom I could get involved with and make an impact. After that first meeting, I became a provisional (new) member.
In that one short hour, I learned about what Junior League was doing in Sioux Falls to combat human trafficking with legislation and education and I wanted to be a part of real change!
Since joining the Junior League, I’ve met so many amazing women, a few who I can confidently call mentors and so many more that I can call friends. I’ve learned about the atrocity that takes place every day in South Dakota that is human trafficking, and I’ve been a part of a movement to end it.
As Membership Development Chair this year, it is my job to tell the story of Junior League. And just like a friend made me aware of this amazing organization, I’m hoping to make others aware.
