I had a friend from college try Whole30 last year in January. Whole30 attempts to change the way you think about food, tastes, habits and cravings. It could, quite possibly, change the emotional relationship you have with food, and with your body. It has the potential to change the way you eat for the rest of your life. My friend posted daily pictures of her meals and their recipes. I was inspired by her and her husband’s dedication to their health, not to lost weight but to achieve discipline in the way they ate.
This January, I’ve decided to accept the Whole30 challenge. I’ll start on January 2. Yes, it is a 30-day routine, but I look forward to making eating “whole” a life-long habit.
I’m not anticipating the challenge to be “easy.” I’m looking forward not to “dieting” or even losing weight, but to the discipline it will create in my life.
