Here I Raise My Ebenezer

So here it is, my first blog post.

Naming a blog is probably one of the most daunting tasks. I wanted it to reflect me as a whole person, since this won’t be a blog specifically about cooking, marriage, or fashion. But instead, I hope to incorporate all of my hobbies, interests, and loves into this blog so as to share them with my readers (hoping I’ll have a few).

A few titles I played around with were:

  • Ordinary Worshipping Extraordinary
  • These Boots are Made for Walking by Faith–debated even sharing this one
  • Or somehow tying in my new last name with some cheesy “cook(e)ing” title

But none of these truly captured what I desired to do in this blog, which is to reflect my love of Christ and His faithfulness in my life.

So I decided on the title “Here I Raise My Ebenezer.”

In the book of 1 Samuel in the Old Testament, after the Israelites had defeated the Philistine army in a great victory Samuel found a stone and called it Ebenezer saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” It was a constant reminder to God’s chosen people of His faithfulness and provision.

So “Here I Raise My Ebenezer” in hopes that by reading my blog, you will be pointed to the One who is faithful.
